Setup Course
I offer a 1:1, 1 day course, to teach players how to use the KISS Setup Kit on their own instruments. The course fee is £249.00 and includes the Precision 6-piece Setup Gauge Set (DCG sale price £79) in the course fee.
The course runs from 10am until 4pm (with a 1-hour lunch break).
In the morning we cover the toolkit, the process, the pre-setup tasks, and then review the set-up points on an instrument (which is then ‘messed up’ to enable the student to rectify the changes to the setup).
In the afternoon the student has the opportunity to review the setup on one of their own instruments as well as carrying out the pre-setup tasks and then optimising the guitar based on what they have learnt.

Fret Dressing Course
In addition to the Setup Course I also offer a 1:1, 1 day course, to teach players how to fret dress a guitar. The course fee is £249.00 and includes all the sundry materials required to fret dress one instrument. The Music Nomad tools used during the course are also available to purchase at the end of the day so you can utilise the skills learnt, at home, on your other guitars.
The course runs from 10am until 4pm (with a 1-hour lunch break).
In the morning we cover the tools required, the process, the pre-tasks, and then review the frets on an instrument (the student can bring their own instrument to the course).
We then complete a full fret dress on the instrument, restring, and check set-up points, intonation and of course play the guitar.
Here is some feedback from a student who recently took the course…
“I took a fret dressing course with Duncan and it was fantastic. Duncan made the process easy to understand, even for a complete beginner, and provided hands-on-guidance throughout; taking the time to answer questions and help patiently. By the end of the course the guitar I brought in for us to work on which had frets in a dire state, was levelled, crowned and dressed, and playing brilliantly. It’s a must-take for anyone looking to enhance their skills in guitar maintenance and take their guitar setups to the next level. Highly recommended!”
